The Society for Perioperative Research and Care (SPRC) was started in 2019 with a mandate to bring together learners, clinicians and researchers engaged in Perioperative Medicine. The Society gathered learners, healthcare clinicians (medicine physicians, anesthetists, surgeons, hospitalists, and family medicine physicians, nursing and allied healthcare professionals), administrators and researchers with a goal to promote the practice Perioperative Medicine globally.

The Society is linked to the Perioperative Care Congress, an annual congress that was started in 2017. The SPRC provides information, education, mentoring and support for all learners, practicing clinicians and scientists involved in preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative patient care. The Society is dedicated to promoting perioperative education and research and ensuring optimal perioperative care informed by the best research evidence.

COVID-19 and PCC

The health and well being of our members, staff, attendees, suppliers and industry supporters is a top priority. As such, the PCC scheduled for Nov 6-8, 2020 has been cancelled.  The next Perioperative Care Congress will be held November 12-14, 2021 in Toronto, ON at the Sheraton Centre Hotel Toronto.
